Michael Hoeck talks to Mr. Mundy (president of the ELF) at the lacrosse tournament in Passau (game: Croydon : Munich). Michael suggests to start up a lacrosse team in Maastricht. Mr. Mundy likes the idea.
Summer 2000
Glasgow, Scotland: During a meeting of the ELF, the two German national players Frederik Hoeck and Niklas Kukat officially ask for support to start the team.
Fall 2000
Having the official support of the ELF & ILF, Freddy and Michael Hoeck decide to launch a team. During the first few days of the fall semester, they print flyers and distribute them at the university. One goup of students who receive flyers: Tim van der Noordt, Jeroen Oostenbring and others...
Winter 2000
The University provides the gym in Randwijk for the first few lacrosse practices. On the program: Catching & Throwing; Line drills.
13 Nov. 2000
The first (legendary) friendship game against the lacrosse team in Aachen. Maastricht gets KILLED! For a report of this game click here (unfortunately only in German).
21-22 Jan. 2001
Mr. Mundy and his friend Mr. Maynard visit Maastricht for the weekend. A presentation practice in Randwijk and a team dinner take place.
During one extended weekend, the team from Croydon, England, visits Maastricht. There are fun games, drills, etc. to teach lacrosse to even more Dutch players.
02 Sep. 2001
Founding tournament of the West German Lacrosse league www.wdll.de takes place on the Marlberg in Maastricht. More than 50 players arrive, more than this city has ever seen (until now...).

The Creasemonkeys stop by Amsterdam on their European Tour and meet .... Maastricht! This incredible event with some of the most famous American lacrosse players really sticks out in the history of Maastricht lacrosse - thank you, Tim!

Christmas Dinner! After a year of successfull work the achievements of the board and the team are celebrated. A new board for 2002 is elected.

After long planning the board kicks off the first promotion campaign for the club ever. The promotion days are a full success. A total of 10 guys and 16 girls show up at the open training. The girls team is founded.

The Maastricht Lamas are the first Lacrosse Team in the Netherlands.
